COVID-19: Plateau commences total lockdown, as Lalong tests negative

The Plateau state Governor, Simon Lalong, has directed a complete lockdown on activities except for certain essential services, effectIVE midnight Thursday 9th April 2020.
Lalong, said the measure is to enable the state carry out fumigation exercise to keep the state hygienic with a view to mitigating outbreak and spread of the novel Covid-19 Pandemic.
He encouraged all plateau indigenes to remain law abiding during the lockdown periods.
The lockdown, according to him, will last until Wednesday, 15th April 2020.
Meanwhile, he Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong has tested negative to Corona Virus.
A statement signed by his Director of Press and Public affairs, Dr. Makut Simon Macham said “Governor Lalong submitted sample of his blood together with other members of his family to the NCDC”.
tatement read in part: “ The samples of the Governor and members of his family were taken 2 days ago by health officials and forwarded to the NCDC laboratory in Abuja for examination.
Fortunately the results came back today, 9th April 2020 and indicated negative for the Governor and members of his family”.
He encouraged people of the state to adhere to all medical advises given by the health workers in order to mitigate the spreads of the novel Pandemic.
