Crystal Palace have appointed Neil Warnock as successor to Tony Pulis as manager, with the 65-year-old taking up the position for the second time in his career. Warnock managed the Selhurst Park outfit between 2007 and 2010 with the highlight being a Championship playoff semi-final during his first season in charge.
He then went onto guide QPR to the Premier League in 2011 the second time he had earned promotion to the English top tier having achieved the same feat with Sheffield United in 2006. Palace are looking to add some stability after what has been a difficult period for the club following the departure of Pulis just two days before the 2014/15 campaign started. The South London club’s first choice had been former Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay, before Bluebirds owner Vincent Tan released copies of alleged racist, homophobic and sexist texts sent between the Scot and then Eagles sporting director Iain Moody.
