Civil Society Organizations and community leaders have praised the launch and features of the Kaduna State Infrastructure Disclosure Portal, recognizing it as a crucial tool for enhancing transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement in public infrastructure projects.

This commendation came during a capacity-building workshop organized by the CoST Infrastructure Transparency Initiative International Secretariat, in collaboration with the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission (PBC) and the Kaduna State Public Procurement Authority (KADPPA).

The workshop aimed to equip civil society and community stakeholders with the skills necessary to monitor infrastructure contracts and projects throughout the state.

At the close of the workshop, Yusuf Goje, the State Team Lead for the Kaduna Local Government Accountability Mechanism (KADLAGAM), emphasized the portal’s potential, especially if the government commits to making key documents available, such as Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports, Bills of Quantity, and contractual documents.

“These are the types of information civil society has been requesting for years. Their timely availability on the portal would represent a significant advancement for transparency and public accountability,” Goje stated.
