C’ttee on suspended 2015 recruitment still on course- Delta govt.

Delta state government on Thursday said that the committee on the suspended 2015 recruitment in the state was still on course.
The state Commissioner for Information, Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu who made this known to journalists in Asaba while reacting to protest organized by some persons over the recruitment process that was stalled by Okowa led administration in 2015, said that the suspension of the employment was due to perceived irregularities.
Recall that over 7,000 Deltans were during the administration of the Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan recruited for civil service employment in the state but was stalled by Okowa led administration in 2015 following litany of irregularities in the recruitment process carried out.
But Aniagwu explained that the Governor,Dr Ifeanyi Okowa was honest, responsive and very much aware of the plight of the unemployed, adding that measures were being put in place to ensure that Deltans were gainfully employed whether in private or public sector and cited examples with the different skills aquisitions programmes of the state government and spread across the state to make Delta youths proactive citizens.
He urged those protesting to remain calm and be law and abiding citizens, while assuring them that their protest would receive the desired attention from the state government within a for night and noted that government discovered discrepancies in the recruitment of non Deltans in the said exercise.
Protesting unemployed Deltans had on Tuesday given the state government 21 days ultimatum to reverse it decision on the stalled recruitment process or they will continue in protest to press home their griviances against It, alleging that the employment was put on hold with no cogent reasons.
