Popular socialite and businessman, Cubana Chief Priest, has lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency seat in Imo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Cubana Chief Priest, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, was defeated by the incumbent lawmaker, Canice Moore Nwachukwu, who secured the party’s ticket to seek a third term in the House of Representatives.
The celebrity businessman had recently intensified his political involvement within the APC and openly backed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling party.
He was also appointed the Imo State Director of the City Boy Movement (CBM), a youth-driven support group promoting Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
The outcome of the primary is seen as a major political setback for the social media personality, whose entrance into partisan politics had generated widespread reactions across the country.
