Director General National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) Otunba Olusegun Runsewe said Cultural integration and bilateral relationship between Nigeria and China will robust and add value to both countries in achieving inclusive national framework across ethnic,religious and political lines in Nigeria.
Runsewe made the disclosure at a recognition award/dinner in his honour by the Nigeria-China Business Council, as a “Cultural Bridge Builder”between Africa and China(Nigeria in Focus),recently in Abuja.
According to him, there are some cultural integration benefits Nigeria and china have which includes breaking stereotypes, building relationships and promoting dialogue.
Others are celebrating similarities, positive media coverage and long term impacts.
Receiving the distinguished award, the director general expressed that the award is for the entire country, adding that it is a wake up call that the country needs to do more.
“We are passing through hard times in this county. And the challenges of the future is the 3-6month training, capacity building and skills acquisition that we are planning to impact people rightly”.
He said” We are working in collaboration with china and state governments to take 100 youths from the 36 state including FCT. This 3000 youths will go to china for capacity building and skills acquisitions among other trainings.
“When this 3000 youths are empowered, they will come back to their various states with 37 different brands of skills acquisition. With this, we have created employment and reduce crime rate in the country”, he said.
He said Journalists will be included in the trip for them to write stories over there, without them, no one will know the new innovations we are bringing to country “, he said
Earlier, the Chairman Nigeria, -China Business Council, Chief Dr Mattew Uwaekwe, explained that the Council and board members took a decision to honour Runsewe efforts and contributions towards arts and culture in Nigeria , African and China .
He stated that Runsewe has really taken a good steps towards arts and culture. “ We want to translate arts and culture to have economy value between the two countries. While encouraging the dg to do more”.
