The minister of sports and Chairman National Sports Commission (NSC), Dr Tammy Danagogo has been ordered to appear before the Jos High court to explain why he should not be thrown into jail for going against court order.
According to a fresh order contained in Form 49 released by the Jos High court, the defendants in the case, Alhaji Aminu Maigari, and his executive committee board members Musa Amadu, Plateau states football federation and all the thirty six states FA chairmen including the federal capital territory and the minister of sports must appear before the Judge on the 8 of this month to adequately explain why they went against the order of the court which was released September 19.
According to the order, it states, “Take Notice that the plaintiff will on Wednesday the 18th day of October, 2014 at the hour of 9 0.clock in the forenoon apply to this court for an order for your committal to prison for having disobeyed the Order of this Court made on the 19 day of September, 2014.
You may want to recall that the Jos High court had ordered that Aminu Maigari and Musa Amadu should not convene or hold a general assembly or extra general assembly of the NFF and or conduct or hold election into the executive committee of the NFF pending the determination of the case before them.
Maigari and his board were particularly retrained from parading themselves as the president and members of the executive committee of the NFF.
The Nigeria sports minister was ordered not to give recognition to Aminu Maigari and his board members.
The minister was specially ordered to give recognition to the general assembly meeting of the NFF held on the 26 August, 2014 and the election into the executive committee of the NFF conducted at that meeting.
