President of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has accused the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Farouk Ahmed, of corruption and economic sabotage over alleged foreign school fees paid for his children.
Speaking on Sunday, Dangote claimed that Ahmed spent about $5 million on the secondary school education of his four children in Switzerland. He called for a thorough investigation into the allegation and demanded that the NMDPRA boss provide a public explanation.
Dangote further urged that Ahmed should appear before the Code of Conduct Tribunal to account for how such funds were allegedly sourced, noting that the matter raises serious ethical and governance concerns.
He stressed that he was merely relaying issues brought to his attention, but warned that failure to address the allegations transparently could further erode public confidence and damage investor trust in Nigeria’s regulatory institutions.
