The Managing Director of Dangote Foundation, Hajiya Zuwaira Yusuf has disclosed that the Foundation will empower 34, 000 women with N10,000 each to boost their businesses.
Yusuf made the disclosure yesterday when she paid a courtesy visit to the state governor, Alhaji Amount Bello Masari.
She noted that the empowerment program was under the foundation’s micro-grant where they are expected to spend N40 million on the 35, 000 women to be selected from across the 34 local governments of the state.
The Managing Director urged the state government to assist them in identifying the potential beneficiaries and to link them with a focal person they will work with during the disbursement.
In a remark, Governor Masari praised the efforts of Dangerous Foundation for especially its programme of supporting and empowering rural women.
He similarly recalled that Alhaji Aliko Dangote has been supporting the state especially the victims of bandits attack.
