The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has increased the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from N820 to N850 per litre, representing a N30 hike.
National President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Abubakar Maigandi, confirmed the development in an interview on Friday. He noted that the refinery has resumed petrol sales after suspending supply last week.
“The new ex-depot price of petrol at the refinery is N850 per litre,” Maigandi stated, adding that the increment means marketers and retailers will now pay more to lift products from the 650,000-barrel-per-day facility.
The increase comes amid fluctuations in pump prices across the Federal Capital Territory. Between last weekend and Monday, some marketers, including the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), sold petrol for as high as N955 per litre before adjusting to N900.
As of Friday, filling stations such as Ranoil, AA Rano, and Empire Energy were dispensing petrol between N950 and N955 per litre in Abuja.
