An applicant for the entry visa into Denmark, Chukwudi Enekwechi has protested refusal of the Visa by the Embassy of Denmark in Nigeria, describing it as procedural breeches.
Enekwechi who identified himself as journalist and publisher of Spectator Magazine, expressed dissatisfaction in a written protest against the Embassy of Denmark in Nigeria over his denial of a visa to visit his friend and business partner in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Narrating his encounter with the Consular section of the Danish Embassy in Abuja, Enekwechi explained how he was recently denied a visitor visa to Denmark on the basis that the consular officer, one Mr. Matthais stated that he was not sure Mr. Enekwechi will return to Nigeria at the end of his visit to Denmark.
Enekwechi picked hole in that claim saying that just about two years ago in 2021, he was in Denmark and after his visit, he promptly returned to Nigeria and did not see any justification to deny him a visa over such a ‘flimsy reason’.
He said that he has travelled to different parts of the world, including the US, UK, China, Europe among many other countries, and that he finds it totally unjustifiable for the Danish Embassy in Abuja to deny him the visa.
Enekwechi said he had already furnished the Embassy with the relevant documents needed for visa application, including the letter of invitation from his friend and business partner in Denmark, Mr. Joergen Hansen.
He said said even after the visa denial, his host Mr. Hansen had sent an email to the embassy assuring them that he Enekwechi will return to Nigeria after his trip.
Enekwechi said his host in Denmark had also testified in his email to the Embassy that he, Enekwechi, is well known to him and has been a frequent traveller to Europe. and other parts of the world, and therefore the suspicion that he will not return to Nigeria was unnecessary.
Mr. Enekwechi also told this newspaper that apart from visiting his friend in Denmark, he was also the agent of Danpure Water Purification company based in Copenhagen, Denmark and appealed to the ambassador to review his case to enable him travel to Denmark for business and pleasure.
