Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo has presented 2015 budget of N86, 776,880,208.32 to Gombe state House Assembly.
Presented the budget yesterday in Gombe tagged: “budget of accomplishment”, the governor emphasized that the 2015 budget was aimed at preparing the fall of the international price of crude oil
noting that his administration would expect resource inflow for 2015 and allocate budget to all ministries, Departments and Agencies in order to guide them in the preparation of their estimates.
The governor however stated that even though his administration in the past three years has been challenging, the state has not been spared from sporadic attacks, adding that the security challenges in the North- east Sub- region have negatively impacted Agricultural and Commercial activities in the zone.
Speaking further, he said, “we have sheltered refugees displaced by the insurgents in our neighbouring states which have stretched our resources and infrastructure.”
According to him, in 2011, his administration inherited a very volatile situation where youths in the state became tools for political thuggery and crime however, these vulnerable youths were misused by unscrupulous politicians.
He said his administration was committed to proscribed Kalare activities and sought ways of channeling the energies of youths to meaningful activities through re- orientation and skill provision.
