Gombe state governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, has said that his administration will not relent in punishing people who involved themselves in rape cases.
The governor gave the warning yesterday in Gombe after he received a report from technical committee on review of Gombe laws at Government House chamber.
Dankwambo also lauded efforts by the committee which he said will go a long way in maintaining law and order in the state.
According to him, his administration will not fold its hands and allow rape cases to continue, adding that the issue of rape in the society has been the major problem affecting the entire communities.
He assured that government on its part, has already taken necessary steps to ensure that anyone found wanting will be prosecuted accordingly.
Speaking at the event, the chairman of the technical committee on review of Gombe laws, Alhaji Mohammed Wabili said that the committee received memoranda from individuals, ministries and corporate bodies to enable them ascertain safety delivery.
He explained that 1,110 laws were recommended during the exercise.
