Rising from modest beginnings, Deputy Controller of Immigration Service (DCI), Barrister Danlamin Audi has carved a distinguished name for himself through dedication, resilience, and unwavering focus. What began as a journey marked by hardship has grown into a story written in gold.
Despite the odds, DCI Barrister Danlamin Audi remained determined, proving that greatness is never limited by one’s beginnings. Beyond his achievements today, he remains a lawyer passionate about justice, continuous learning, and personal growth.
At the grassroots, DCI Barrister Audi stands as a politician of the people—deeply connected to his roots and widely respected across Agaie Local Government Area of Niger State, as well as the eight Emirates within the state and beyond. His words carry weight; his guidance is sought and followed, especially on matters of community development and political direction.
DCI Barrister Audi is not just a public servant; he is a symbol of hope—proof that dreams backed with hard work can produce extraordinary impact. His people honour him not only for what he has achieved but also for never forgetting his origin of where he comes from
As a child, he enjoyed the deep affection of his parents, who ensured he lacked nothing. He rode bicycles, played football, and was the beloved pet of the family. Yet, despite this love, his father never treated him softly on the farm—discipline was always present to better his future while still young.
Driven by a strong desire to learn, he personally enrolled himself in primary school even when education was not initially prioritized for him. He spent two years in primary one and eventually became one of the top students in his class. He later sat for the qualifying examination and gained admission into the College of Arts and Islamic Studies (CAIS), Minna. While in the college, he developed a passion for the sciences, but his father insisted he continue with Arabic and Islamic Studies.
After graduating from Bayero University Kano (BUK) and being called to Bar, he was appointed Legal Adviser to Agaie Local Government. His uncle later introduced him to Barrister Hamidu Jibrin Imam, where he began practicing lawyer—despite earning no salary until clients began to come.
During university, he cultivated a large farm that supported him financially. Remarkably, from the time he was admitted into BUK until his 400-level, he wore only old clothes, even during Salah festivals and special occasions. His life was marked by sacrifice, discipline, and purposeful driven.
Hoping to secure a job through the Civil Service Commission (CSC) but receiving no results, fate intervened on a Salah day when a friend brought him an application form for the Nigeria Immigration Service. He submitted it the next day in Agaie—marking the beginning of the career that would define his legacy.
Today, as a Deputy Controller of Immigration Service, Barrister Audi continues to be a leading example. He advises youths to double their efforts, reminding them that the government cannot cater for everyone in a nation of growing population like Nigeria. Despite his position, he grows his own food and spends little to purchased ingredients, demonstrating the value of hard work, dedication and self-sufficiency.
His life remains a powerful reminder that background does not define destiny. From a pampered child to a symbol of success, discipline, and service, DCI Barrister Danlamin Audi stands tall as an inspiration to all.
He calls on young people to embrace effort, stay focused, and follow the path of discipline—because, as his journey has shown, the sky can indeed become their stepping stone to greatness.
