The Head of Administration and Acting chairman of Darazo local government area, Garba Yahaya, has drawn the attention of political parties, stakeholders, members of association and traditional leaders to the importance of voter’s registration by all eligible voters.
Yahaya made the called while addressing political stakeholders, where he urged all eligible voters, for their own benefits, to come out in mass and vote in the fortcoming election.
He emphasized the importance of voters registration, saying it goes a long way to solve many issues that are not only related to election, even as he called on all and sundry to create awareness to the people to come out to get their voter’s cards.
Yahaya further set up an enlightenment committee on voter’s registration exercise and assured of the local government support for the exercise.
The representative of the District Head of Darazo, Haruna Barwa, in his remarks, assured the people of Darazo local government that efforts will be doubled to create awareness among the people to come out and get their voter’s card.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has called on voters who have reached the eligible age, lost their cards, displaced or might have been transferred to Darazo to hurriedly apply and procure their voter’s cards at the INEC office.
The INEC representative at the event, Tirmizi Umar, who said this, also disclosed that the commission is working towards solving the problems voters encounter with loss of voter’s cards or relocation once and for all.
