Deadly Rival Cult War Leaves Four Dead In Benue

At least four suspected Cult members have been reportedly killed and a house said to have been burnt in North Bank area of Makurdi, Benue State capital on Monday.

A resident who pleaded anonymity said, there was killing of young man on Monday whose corpse was buried on Tuesday, adding that the incident caused a huge rampage yesterday.

He also said on same Tuesday afternoon, a house was burnt in Ter Guma street in North Bank.

Said he, “alot of incident of such are happening in North Bank. This issue of fine boys is causing a lot of problem in the area.Whether you are a member or not, anything can happen to you. There are series of killings.

Confirming the incidence, Nura Usman Commander, Operation Say No To Cultism said one was killed around 9 pm on Monday, averring too that last week two(2) persons were killed.

“One of them was beheaded and the body has not been ound up till now. The other’s head was smashed and he has been buried. So between last week and Monday, four persons suspected to be cult members belonging to red and black groups were murdered”, Nura said.

He however, denied knowledge of the burning of a house on Ter Guma street.

As at the time of filing this report, Police authority failed to confirm the incidence as the Public Relations’ Officer SP Catherine Anene did not pick her call or respond to message sent to her Whatsapp page.
