Death toll from Kano Poly attack rises to 4

The death toll of the victims of the suicide bomb blast that rocked the Kano State School of Polytechnic on Wednesday, killing three students and injuring several others, has risen to four.

Muhammad Nura Daneji, a resident of Kundila area in the Kano metropolis and a HND Graduate died early this morning at the Murtala Muhammad Hospital, in Kano.

According to his friend and neighbor , Aminu Gambo, the young man died as a result of fatal injury he sustained from the blast.

He further revealed that the late Nura Deneji died due to excessive loss of blood arising from a lost arm and was set to undergo surgery to also amputate his leg yesterday.

“He died early this morning, due to excessive loss of blood arising from a loss of arm and he was supposed to undergo another surgery to remove his leg.” Said Gambo.

Gambo further added that, late Daneji was a good man and had passion for education. He was latter buried according to Islamic rites.

The state’s Police Command Public Relation officer, ASP Magaji Musa Majia, confirmed the death and stated that ” the deceased is my neighbor and is a good man and of sound moral behaviors.”

It could be recalled that the polytechnic attack was the fourth female suicide attack in the commercial city in the space of four days, opening a new dimension to the crisis in the state.
