Defection: Group expels Abba, Atiku’s son from organisation, backs Ex-VP

Date:

*Says Abba not founder, initiator of Atiku Haske Organisation

The initiator and convener of the Atiku Haske Organisation, Hon. Mai Nagge Musa Bakari has declined a directive by one of the son’s of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Abba, to change the course of its support for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Abba Atiku Abubakar had on Thursday following his defection to the APC, directed all coordinators and members of his political structure to immediately join the APC and mobilise support for Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.

He also announced the renaming of his group to the Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation.

But Hon. Bakari in a press statement on Sunday said the former Vice President’s son has no locus in deciding for the group, which party or candidate to support.

According to the statement, Abba is not the founder or originator of the Atiku Haske Organisation and lacks the authority to decide for the group.

“We founded the Atiku Haske Organisation and we merely invited Abba to join the group. Abba has neither contributed a naira to the activities of the group nor possess the certificate of registration of the group. We are therefore under no obligation or duty to adhere to any directive by him.

“In the contrary, he is the one who is subject to our regulations and evidently, he has fallen short of expectations by our standards, and expressly dismissed as a member.

“The Atiku Haske Organisation is not a party to, neither is it interested in joining Abba to defect to any other political party apart from the African Democratic Congress. We were formerly in the Peoples Democratic Party and we resolved as an organisation to move en-masse to the ADC.

“What Abba has done is contrary to our resolution, values and principles and he is hereby expelled from the organisation.

“We remain resolute in our objective of enthroning a government that will deliver good governance to mitigate the sufferings by the masses of this country.

“We are even more resolute in our conviction that His Excellency Atiku Abubakar is the best candidate to drive home our objective.

“Therefore, the Atiku Haske Organisation is solidly behind Atiku and the directive by Abba is a nullity, and is dead on arrival.

“We challenge Abba to create his own group if, indeed, he has the capacity to do so. We will not join issues with him but we urge him to desist from identifying himself as a member of our organisation,” the statement concludes.
