Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom has described his decision to join the All Progressives Congress, (APC), as a strategic move made in the best interest of the state.

Speaking to journalists after revalidating his membership in Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium LGA, Eno expressed full satisfaction with his decision to defect to the APC.

“I am fully satisfied with the choice I have made,” he said.

The governor launched a month-long APC membership registration exercise across all wards in the state on August 4.

He stated that the initiative is designed to identify authentic party members and prevent impersonation within the party’s ranks.

Eno explained that the ongoing exercise would help streamline the party’s internal structure and enhance grassroots mobilisation.

As he welcomed new members to the APC, the governor encouraged them to remain focused and pay no attention to critics.

He urged party members to rally behind President Bola Tinubu’s administration, emphasizing that unity and collective effort are key to taking the APC to greater heights.
