The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Delta State Council, has congratulated Mr Paul Osahor JP, of the State Ministry of Information on his appointment as a Permanent Secretary in the Delta State Civil Service.
The NUJ, in a statement issued yesterday in Asaba, said the appointment was well deserved and a reward for hard work, dedication and zeal at giving verve to information service delivery in the state.
The statement signed by the Council Chairman, Michael Ikeogwu and Secretary, Churchill Oyowe, expressed confidence that the appointment would further motivate the creative best in Mr Osahor for effective service delivery.
The council, while also congratulating all the other appointees on their elevation to the peak of their career as civil servants, thanked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for extending his appointments to the civil service and Post Primary Education Board.
The council particularly commended the governor on the ground that testimonies from some of the appointees indicated that they did not lobby but rather, merit was considered in the appointment.
The council urged the governor to maintain the tempo in subsequent appointments, arguing that it would help to build a resilient and re-oriented civil service
