Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya (APC Kano South) has described the death of legal luminary, former chief justice of the federation, late justice Idris Legbo Kutigi as a national loss.
A statement issued by the senator said that the late justice will be missed not by immediate family and associates, but by the legal profession and all meaning Nigerians.
He said the independence of the judiciary under Kutigi strengthened Nigeria’s democracy because of flawless judgements delivered across the country.
Senator Gaya further said that at a time that Nigeria is approaching a general election, the experiences of sound legal guru like Kuitgi will be missed especially on election matters. The federal lawmaker sympathizes with the President Muhammadu Buhari, Good people Niger State, the judicial profession, and family of the deceased legal icon for the sad event.
He enjoined the family of the former justice to take solace on the fact that the late justice lived a life of worthy emulation, May ALLAAH SWT bestow him with Aljanatul Firdaus Ameen.
