Desperate politicians mobilizing for violent protest to discredit govt, DSS reveals

After two weeks of speculations, the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) Monday, confirmed it will on Wednesday, September 6, deliver judgement in the three petitions challenging the declaration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the 2023 presidential election.

Chief Registrar of the Court of Appeal, Umar Mohammed Bangari confirmed the date to our correspondent on Monday in Abuja.

Bangari revealed that the court is set to ensure hitch free delivery of the judgment in the three petitions.

They are the petitions  filed by the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, Abubakar Atiku and his counterpart in the Labour Party Peter Obi as well as that of Allied People Movement APC.

Bangari hinted that adequate security has been put in place and that only the invited members of political parties and the general public would be allowed into the court room to avoid congestion and security breaches.

He, there stated that live telecast by interested television stations to be allowed at no cost to the Court.

He added that there will be restrictions around the Court premises for security reasons, security breaches, crowd control etc.

The court reserved judgment on the petitions filed by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party in order to deliver the judgements on the same day as that of Peter Obi of the Labour Party.

Last week, the court denied that it had fixed September 16 for the judgment.
