The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention Central Planning Committee, Hon. Aminu Masari
, has assured that despite some challenges, the Committee is ready to conduct a convention that will be successful in line with the activities of the party.
Masari spoke on Monday in Abuja during a road walk and awareness campaign organized by the Environment and Sanitation Sub-committee, with the theme; Walk for Cleaner and Safer Environment.
The former governor of Katsina state lauded the sub-committee headed by the governor of Kogi state, Usman Ododo for the initiative of planning the exercise which he said has signaled the readiness of the party to organize the convention as well as to win the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
“They have done a good job, and they have made a very good decision. They have aligned themselves to win, and this shows that the APC is ready. And we are waiting for 2027 and our Convention, we are ready for it, come Saturday. And I thank the organisers of this road march, for being so green, wherever you go, you are green.
“And talking about challenges, do you live life without challenges? Exactly, there are some challenges, but that is enough to affect our convention, we are going ahead with it as already planned”.
Also speaking, the co-chairman of the sub-committee and former governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ben Ayade said the road walk was organized to show that the party has got the capacity to organize the a peaceful convention.
“What we have done is shown the real fact that we have got capacity, energy and vitality to drive the Convention in absolute peace. As a party, we are really repositioning and reloading to create a new Nigeria that will show clearly that we are clearly focused on returning to government and with a clear agenda to put people first and above every consideration”.
Ayade also thanked the FCT administration for ensuring that the city has remained clean, insisting that such is another indicator to the fact President Bola Tinubu has done so well to warrant his reelection.
In her remarks, Secretary to the Committee, Sen. Uche Ekwunife while agreeing with the positions taken by Masari and Ayade added that the public road walk was organized to let Nigerians know that the ruling party is ready for the 2027 elections.
“I want to thank everyone for finding the time to come out this morning to let Nigeria know that APC is the prepared. We are not just prepared for Convention, we are prepared for the 2027 election, when we are going to return our President, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and our Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima.
“We want to let them know that we are not just green, we are ready, we are prepared, we are confident that 2027, APC is going to win landslide, 90% of all the vote cast in Nigeria. President Tinubu is coming back”.
The event was attended by many chieftains of the APC including, former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.
