The Acting Director General of the FCT Emergency Management Department (FEMD), has handed over the position to Mrs. Florence Wenegieme, following his retirement from active service.

Sabo who announced his retirement at a management valedictory  meeting urged the new Ag. DG to keep the FEMA flag flying particularly in the areas of flood mitigation and search and rescue.

This was contained in a statement from Head, Public Affairs, Nkechi Isa, yestetday, in Abuja.

He appealed to members of staff to update themselves on the use of computers to optimize service delivery.

He adfs: “ The FCTA is planning to go paperless before the end of this year, if you do not update yourself you will be irrelevant.”

Wenegieme,  a former Director Forecasting, Response and Mitigation, Mrs. Florence Wenegieme while receiving the handover notes, thanked Sabo for his contributions towards the realization of the FEMA bill.

Describing Sabo as a mentor, an emotional Wenegieme promised to put in her best to sustain the gains of her predecessors.

“ I pray for the wisdom and cooperation of the staff to keep the flag flying. I promise to put in my best to sustain what you and the pioneer DG have put in place”, she stated.

She called for the cooperation of staff to ensure a peaceful and harmonious working environment.
