The Kaduna State Disability Board has called on Nigerians to encourage people with disabilities by accepting them into the society.
The Executive Secretary of the board Alhaji Haruna Yakasi asserted this when he received a team from ENACTUS Kaduna polytechnic cheaper yesterday.
Alhaji Yakasi said one of the Delimer facing PWDs is the unacceptanceof them into 5he communities because of their nature which in most cases it is not there make he added that even religious organizations are guilty of this because today there is no a Braille Quran or bible for the visually impaired PWDs.
According to him, how can they worship their God if they cannot read the message, adding that some of the places of worship are not accessible to the PWDs especially those in wheelchairs
He However stressed that the PWDS should up their game by accepting who they are saying not accepting their condition is also a problem facing them
“ They have to accept that they are PWDS but in any way that does not make them a second class citizen, they can only be that if they harbour inferiority complex.
You must realize that as PWDs you can achieve your life’s aims and objectives without much ado”.
Alhaji yakasi commended the ENACTUS team for their support to the PWDs saying the board as a long benefiting relationship with them, he charged them to continue in that dimension as their contribution to the PWDs.
In his remark the technically director ENACTUS Kaduna polytechnic Prince Adeoye, said the teams are at the centre to help in training the PWDs in some some skill acquisition such as tailoring, tie and die amongst others.
He call3d on the board to take advantage of the online marketing and promote the product of the PWDs to the public.
