Peoples living with disabilities in the North East geopolitical zone of the country have hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for signing the Disability Bill into law.
Addressing newsmen in Bauchi on what he described as positive development, the North East zonal APC Disabled Leader, Comrade Muhammad Abba Isa explained that singing of the bill has saved over 27 million Nigerians living with disabilities from all forms of discrimination which retard their socio economic growth.
Abba said the development has also brought to an end, the sufferings of peoples with disabilities endured as a result of systematic discrimination against them, saying that the situation has impended on both individual progress of the affected persons and the nation in general.
He said with the signing of the Bill, all public organizations are expected to set aside at least five percent of employment opportunities and rights to education, healthcare, priority in accommodation and emergencies for disabled.
