Disaster mgt: Mohammed replaces Wenegieme as Director FEMD

Engr Abdulrahman Mohammed has replaced Mrs Florence Dawon Wenegieme as Director of the FCT Emergency Management Department (FEMD), following the redeployment of the erstwhile FEMD’s Acting Director.
This development was disclosed in statement from Head, Public Affairs unit of FEMD,Nkechi Isa, which was made available to newmen.
According the statement, until his new appointment as the Director of FEMD, Mohammed was the Director of Relief and Rehabilitation of FEMD.
It added that he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria,Kaduna State and a Master’s degree on Asset Development and Control from the Federal University of Technology, Minna,Niger State, adding that he is a registered member of various professional bodies including NschE,NSE,NSCE and Coren.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Mohammed urged the staff to be diligent and transparent in carrying their duties.
The new Director who called for the cooperation of the staff to keep the FEMD flag flying,stated that anyone who was not willing to work with him was free to redeploy.
While commending Mrs Wenegieme for her contributions to the development of FEMD, he said: Don’t forget to tell us when we are going wrong and also when we are doing the right thing,.”
Earlier, Mrs. Wenegieme also commended FEMD staff,attributing her successes to their support.
She however, appealed to the staff to extend the same cooperation to her successor.
“Most of the management staff who spoke at the event described Mrs Wenegieme as a dedicated professional committed to the development of FEMD”, the statement added.
