The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission has disclosed that power distribution companies generated N207.49bn revenue in December 2025.
The commission said the figure represents a slight drop of 0.02 per cent from the N208.78bn recorded in November.
NERC made this known in its DisCos commercial performance factsheet for December 2025.
According to the report, the revenue was realised after the electricity distribution companies issued customer bills worth N258.66bn during the month.
The commission added that the December billing declined by four per cent compared with the N269.43bn billed in November.
Despite the drop in billing, NERC said collection efficiency improved slightly.
The commission noted that collection efficiency rose to 80.22 per cent in December from 77.49 per cent recorded in the previous month.
The report also showed that the total value of energy received by the DisCos in December stood at N309.65bn.
NERC said the figure represents a 9.54 per cent decrease from the N342.29bn recorded in November.
On recovery performance, the commission stated that Eko Electricity Distribution Company recorded the strongest revenue recovery rate.
According to NERC, Eko DisCo posted a recovery performance of 99.45 per cent, reflecting near full recovery of allowed revenues.
The commission added that Yola, Ikeja and Abuja DisCos also recorded strong recovery levels.
“Yola (87.89 per cent), Ikeja (85.32 per cent), and Abuja (84.43 per cent) also delivered strong recovery performance,” NERC stated.
It further noted that Benin, Ibadan, Enugu and Port Harcourt DisCos recorded moderate recovery levels.
According to the regulator, Benin posted 71.36 per cent, Ibadan 73.19 per cent, Enugu 73.50 per cent and Port Harcourt 79.29 per cent.
NERC said the figures provide insight into how efficiently electricity distribution companies are billing customers, collecting payments and recovering revenue.
The commission added that the indicators are critical to improving liquidity and service delivery across the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry.
