The political family of late DAAR communications Chairman,High Chief Raymond Dokpesi ,known as the D37 have applauded former Vice President of Nigeria and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic party in the 2023 elections, Atiku Abubakar on his victory in the United States of America District Court of Illinois which ordered the release of the academic records of President Bola Tinubu by the Chicago State University and urged the Supreme court of Nigeria to reverse the victory of the Presidential elections petitions tribunal .
The D37 also commended Atiku Abubakar for his doggedness and conviction that the judiciary is the last hope of the common man and his belief in the tenets of democracy ,clean politics and the rule of law.
In a press statement signed by the chairman of the Dokpesi political family Senator Victor Kassim Isa Oyofo and secretary Dr Alex Ter Adum described Atiku Abubakar as resolute and valiant fighter for democracy and justice, stressing that his political life in the last three decades shows the trajectory of a man who has used his political struggles to achieve landmark constitutional locus classicus to strengthen and enhance the survival of democracy in Nigeria .
The group cited the “AGF V Atiku Abubakar ,which reinforce the inseparable of the joint presidential ticket and denied the president and governors the power to remove the vice president and deputy Governors from office .
“Atiku Abubakar V INEC which settled the jurisprudence on the powers of the electoral management body to disqualify candidates for election”
According to the group the reselience of Atiku Abubakar to unmask the identity and academic qualifications of Bola Ahmed Tinubu which according to them has been a subject of debate as well as the thwarting of the third term agenda of President Olusegun Obssanjo and many others were tilted towards enriching Nigerians democracy .
D37 while calling on Nigerians home and in the diaspora to demand justice ,fairness and equity ; challenged the Supreme court to redirect the 2023 elections experiences and barr the wave of “unconstitutional overthrows arising from civil discontent with the management of the conduct of elections and it’s fallouts else where in West Africa” .
Accusing the tribunal of failure to serve substantial justice , asked the apex court to invoke court rules order 2 paragraph 12 subparagraph 1-3,which states that:
“A party who wishes the court to receive the evidence of witnesses (whether they were or were not called at the trial) or to order the production of any document,exhibit, or other thing connected with the proceedings shall apply for leave on notice of motion prior to the date set down for the hearing of the appeal”
