The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has delivered some relief materials to victims of Gwoza, in Borno state, who were recently attacked and displaced by members of the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents.
A statement by NEMA’s Media and Public Relations Division said, the North-East Zonal Coordinator of the agency, Muhammed Kanar and his team were in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa state, 20 kilometers from Gwoza, to relief the displaced persons.
It also said: “From Madagali, the NEMA team moved to Mubi where 4, 870 displaced persons from Gwoza were also taking refuge at Lamorde Primary School camp to conduct needs assessment before distributing appropriate relief materials to them.”
It further informed that some relief items distributed by the agency were provided by the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan.
Kanar, who represented the Director-General of NEMA, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sidi, said the reliefs provided by the First Lady would be distributed in Madagali, Mubi, Askira Uba and Lassa, where the internally displaced persons have been registered by the agency.
