Don’t truncate democracy, war veteran tells politicians

A Civil war veteran, Col. Paul Ogbebor (rted) has counselled Nigeria leaders, politicians and their followers alike not to truncate democracy ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
He said this during a reception party for year 2018 which was organised by his Children at the weekend in Benin City where he affirmed his support for the re-election of president Muhammadu Buhari.
Ogbebor urged Candidates of the various political parties to restrain themselves from inciting and provocative statements that can undermine the unity of Nigeria he fought for during the Civil war between 1967 and 1970.
According to him, “politicians and their supporters to shun acts that can truncate democracy in Nigeria which living and fallen heroes and fellow patriots laboured to for.
He also commended Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki for prudent management of resources, thereby enhancing the fortunes of the State.
He said the foundation for good governance laid by the Governor, account for ongoing infrastructural development and job creation in the State.
He said Obaseki reforms, kindled the hopes of the citizenry who had undergone painful socio-economic pressures of life beyond the reach of reason and concerns for decency in society.
