DPR cautions marketers to shun diversion of petroleum products

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has cautioned operators of major marketers in the country to shun diversion of petroleum products to black market.
Controller of the DPR Gombe field office Abdullahi Abawa made this known yesterday in Gombe while interacting the operators of major marketers of petroleum products.
While interacting with them, the controller drew their attention to also disengaged themselves from the increase of the pump price of the products.
According to him, the meeting was aimed at rubbing mind with the marketers in ensuring that right thing is been done in the business.
He said having an interactive session with the operators will boost their morale even as he advised them to follow due process while operating their businesses.
We have written letters to all Liquor Petroleum Gasoline to vacate their selling points in Gombe without delay DPR will not hesitate to sanction offenders he said.
The operators of the Liquor Petroleum Gasoline has appealed to us to give them time to enable them fine a place for their business but what we are saying, the time frame will not be indefinitely if it persists DPR will take action he added.
He advised marketers who operates petroleum products not to depend on two filling stations rather than producing more filling stations for better pay.
Representative of the major petroleum products marketers in Gombe Mr. Mike Ayo appreciated the effort made by DPR for organizing an interactive forum to discuss on the need to bring lasting solution lingering in the business.
He said with this forum at least the operators might have learned enough inorder to actualize their businesses where need arises.
