Dr. Billy Okoye’s appointment symbolizes a new era of diaspora empowerment

The appointment of Ambassador Dr. Billy Okoye -GRI as the inaugural Chairman of the United Africa Advisory Board (UAAB) in Prince George’s County, Maryland, USA, marks a significant milestone for African representation in U.S. civic structures. The board’s establishment underscores the growing recognition of African immigrants as active partners in shaping local policy and governance.

At the inauguration officiated by County Executive Aisha N. Braveboy, Dr. Okoye pledged to promote inclusive leadership, cultural unity, and economic empowerment. He expressed gratitude to philanthropist Dr. Jude Onyegbado, and African visionary leader, Ambassador Dr. Joy Davis for their contributions to the success of the UAAB initiative.
