Drought: Etsu Nupe tasks Nigerians to embark on fasting, prayers

Date:

From Yakubu Mustapha

Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, the Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers has tasked Nigerians to turn to God for abundant rainfall and bumper harvests in 2024.
The Etsu Nupe spoke in Minna while speaking to journalists on the need to seek divine intervention in the face of imminent drought in the state and some parts of Nigeria.
Abubakar said his call was necessitated by the epileptic rainfall in the current rainy season, adding that such an unbecoming development would aggravate the already dire socio-economic situation in the country.
Abubakar said that the Almighty Allah would always be merciful to mortals when they turn to him in prayers, hence the call for prayers and fasting in order to overcome the situation.
