The FCT Directoriate of Road Traffic Services (DRTS) has decorated a total number of 135 officers and men of the Service with higher variety of ranks, representing over 96% of those who participated in promotion exercise of the FCT Administration. …
In particular, the DRTS personnel decorated were recently promoted to to Deputy Director, Assistant Director, Chief Traffic officer down to the all cadre within the Service.
Speaking on the sidelines of a brief decoration ceremony yesterday, DRTS Director, Wadata Aliyu Bodinga, described the high record of successfully promoted officers across all cadre as a very good achievement, which is good for the advancement its mandate and the FCT Administration in general.
Bodinga noted that the promotion was not gotten by chance, as those decorated got to their new positions, but through deliberate action and work.
He however added that to him much is given, much is expected, hence their promotion is a call to more service in line with the vision of the FCTA for the directorate.
His words:” We decorated about 136 officers and men of this service that have been promoted to the next level to Deputy Director, Assistant Director, Chief Traffic officer down to the cadre, hence it cuts across all cadre, representing more than 96% of those who participated in recent promotion exercise, this is a very good achievement.
“We believe that with this promotion, we are expecting all the affected officers and men to show gratitude to the FCT Administration , and the Hon. Minister in particular, who gave them this rare privileged opportunity in their career.
“My counsel to other DRTS personnel is to admonish them to be always be of good character, so that they can equally be worthy of being promoted, because promotion is not only by year of service and qualification, but also by character.
“So they should imbibe character of discipline, transparency, dedication to duty, which is very critical for any promotion in the service.”
