Kebbi State Government has purchased 250 trucks of fertilizer to be distributed to the farmers for the dry season farming.
Briefing newsmen yesterday in his office, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Agriculture Mohammed Lawal Sheahu said that the purchase of fertilizer is to support the farmers for the dry season farming and sales at the subsidize rate.
He explained further that the Kebbi State Governor senator Atiku Abubakar Bagudu has put the State on high esteem by promoting agricultural production across the country and globally.
Sheahu stated that recently the State Government has also train 630 youth on farm mechanisation adding that the youth will specializes in different farm mechanisation and other inputs.
“The youth were draw from 21 Local Government areas of the state and they will participate fully on the agricultural production which will support the farmers on how the farms product will be operated” he added.
He then warned all the staffs that will distribute the fertilizer not to divert the materials if found they culprit will be punished.
