• Allegations are garbage, says party

The Department of State Security, (DSS) yesterday in Abuja displayed alleged documents recovered from office of the main opposition party, All Progressive Congress (APC) in Lagos saying that the documents recovered showed that the APC was engaging in fraudulent activities in the office.

The Spokesperson of the DSS, Ms Marilyn Ogar stated this while showing newsmen the said recovered documents which include temporary voter’s card, permanent voters card, names and photographs of security personnel, foreigners and minor/under-age on the registered members of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Ogar said the service also recovered 21 videos with tutorial for hacking, how to become a hacker and steps to take to avoid detection in the process of hacking web services when the service raided a building at No 10 Ajibola Street, Ikeja, and Lagos.

She said these discoveries shows glaringly that there are plans by the party to inflate its membership data as well as hack into INEC’s voter registration database adding that this was done through the creation of the party’s membership forms and cards to match INEC’s voters register across the country.

“The tutorial video focused on the following areas: How to become a hacker and steps to take to avoid detection in the process of hacking web services.

“The video explains how to hack into the systems of media houses with the aim of broadcasting fake stories or headlines.

“Steps and procedures of system hacking, passwords cracking, decrypting, escalating access privileges and creating backdoors to servers” she said.

She further noted that suspects arrested in connection with the raid have been charged to court,.

Meanwhile the party in a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, said the DSS displayed items was a plot designed in collusion with the PDP to distract the APC from its ongoing campaigns for next month’s elections
