Barrister Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the FCT, has dismissed allegations that political parties are being denied access to Eagle Square, describing such claims as “unfounded” and “attempts to gain public sympathy.”

Speaking to reporters during a routine projects inspection on Monday, Wike clarified that no formal application had been received from the parties in question.

He maintained that the venue is available to any group—citing the PDP and APC as examples—provided they follow due process through the National Sports Commission and pay the requisite fees.

“We do not deny access; these events actually generate revenue for the government,” he noted.

The Minister also addressed rumours regarding the structural failure of the Kugbo Bus Terminal.

He clarified that while a recent severe windstorm damaged the roofing sheets due to the building’s elevated terrain, the structural integrity of the terminal remains perfectly sound. He confirmed that repairs are already ongoing and urged the public to disregard reports of a “collapse,” emphasizing that no lives were lost.
