The leadership of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Gwagwalada Area Council Unit Command of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in partnership with the Road Transport Employers’ Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) Gwagwalada chapter have sensitised motorists on road safety during this Easter period in the area.
In an interview during the sensitization programme, the unit commander in charge of FRSC Gwagwalada unit command, ACC. Sunday Attah urged the drivers to avoid over speeding while plying the road Attah also advised the drivers to drive safely in order to stay alive, warning them against drinking alcohol and driving.
He further charged the motorists to make sure that their tires are good order before they embarking on the journey.
Assistant Corps Commander (ACC) Attah therefore, commended all the transport unions in Gwagwalada for being supportive during the enlightenment campaign, and thanked the government for providing adequate fund to carry out the campaign.
On his part, the chairman of RTEAN Gwagwalada chapter, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, expressed appreciation for the step being taken by the leadership of FRSC to sensitise the motorists.
He said the leadership of RTEAN would continue to give the necessary support to the FRSC at any time to educate motorists on the need to be road safety conscious.
He, however, called on all the leaderships of the transport unions to always counsel their divers on the road safety, while pleading with the motorists to obey the traffic rules and regulations.
