The Vice-Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria, Professor Uduma Oji Uduma, has called on Nigerians to embrace renewal, resilience and purposeful living as they mark Easter Sunday.

In a goodwill message on Sunday, Uduma described Easter as a profound moment of reflection, symbolising resurrection, renewal and the triumph of life over adversity.

Quoting Gospel of Luke 24:6, “He is not here, but is risen,” the Vice-Chancellor said the essence of Easter extends beyond spirituality, highlighting the enduring possibility of new beginnings even in difficult circumstances.

He noted that the message of Easter transcends religious boundaries, reflecting a universal human experience where what appears as an ending often signals transformation in progress.

Uduma added that the celebration reinforces a timeless truth across cultures that hardship is often followed by ease, stressing that no condition is permanent.

Addressing the university community, he said the ethos of NOUN reflects the spirit of renewal, noting that the institution continues to expand access to education beyond traditional limitations.

According to him, the university provides opportunities for working-class individuals, people in remote locations and those seeking to rebuild their lives through education.

He urged students to remain steadfast in their academic pursuits, assuring them that progress, though gradual, remains meaningful.

“Every step forward, no matter how small, contributes significantly to personal growth and future success,” he said.
