President Goodluck Jonathan was yesterday unable to travel to Accra, Ghana as earlier scheduled.

He was earlier billed to join other leaders of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), in Accra for an emergency summit on the Ebola Virus Disease.

Jonathan, however, could not travel again due to prolonged mediation talks in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, where he travelled to on Wednesday as a member of the three-man delegation of Heads of State and Government raised by the ECOWAS to facilitate the rapid resolution of the current political crisis in Burkina Faso.

He did not return to the country until the early hours of Thursday.

Jonathan therefore directed Vice President Namadi Sambo to represent him at the Accra summit.
