EBTS: NDE Disburses Starter Packs To Beneficiaries In Benue

The National Directorate of Employment, NDE has disbursed starter packs to 26 trainees in Environmental Beautification Trainiing Scheme, EBTS.

The scheme which is domiciled under the Special Public Works, SPW has the beneficiaries for Plastic of Paris, POP receive 180,000 naira, soft landscaping 150,000 naira and hard landscaping 130,000 naira. The beneficiaries have a moraturium period of six (6) months before commencement of payment of the loan.

Director General, NDE Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo said the EBTS is one of numerous programs designed and implemented by the Directorate to help unemployed school leavers get trained both in hard and soft landscaping asvwell as POP to cushion the effect of unemployment in the society.

Repeesented by the State Coordinator Mr. Patrick Akile, the DG also, said the scheme is a demonstration of the efforts of the Federal Government and present management led by him to reduce unemployment in Benue State, adding that the empowerment will help create wealth,reduce poverty and make beneficiaries employers of labor.

‘I urge you to maKe the best use of this opportunity given to you by the management of NDE”, Mallam Fikpo advised.

Director, Special Public Works represented by Mrs. Ezeaku Ngozi Francisca admonished the beneficiaries to grab the opportunity as there are no collar jobs so to impact on their lives and also, become employers of labor.

“Do not run out to make all your dreams come through because you are afraid to start. Some of the greatest reward you can achieve is not by doing what others are doing but doing things differently to attract patronage.

“The only way to achieve your dreams is to take action. Make impact and be multipler of labor”, she said.

Head of Department, Special Public Works,SPW Barr. Elias Yina reminded the beneficiaries that it is not a free gift but a loan which must be paid back and urged them to make use of the opportunity.
