The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has slated 10th September for the commencement of the test running of the deployment of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and result upload to the INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal for the forthcoming Edo State governorship election coming up on Saturday, 21st September, this year.
The Commission revealed this in a statement on Tuesday by its National Commissioner and Chairman,
Information and Voter Education Committee, Mr Sam Olumekun in Abuja.
Towards this end, the Prof Mahmood Yakubu-led INEC has appealed to registered voters in the State to come out with their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) for the exercise.
The Commission however added quickly that only registered voters for the designated polling units are invited to participate in the exercise, stressing that no voter from another polling unit can be accredited by the BVAS.
The mock exercise, according to Olumekun will be held on Tuesday 10th September 2024 at the designated Polling Units from 8.30am to 2.30pm.
