Edo State University made the list of top flight Universities in Nigeria, in the 2021 World Impact Rankings of Universities.
The University was ranked 4th behind the University of Lagos while Covenant University took second position alongside Nigeria’s Premier University of Ibadan that top the chat among Nigerian Universities.
The survey was conducted by The Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings’ global performance tables that assess Universities against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which Edo University secured 42 percent ranking of 1,115 Universities from 94 Countries and regions.
Relevance of research work carried out by Universities, global visibility, and outreach, stewardship, knowledge transfer, international outlook, webometrics development, teaching curriculum, amongst others are the criteria that were considered by the global body. The platform also affords Universities the opportunity to be ranked via online application.
