Eduok still in shock over Eagles AFCON disappointment

Date:

Super Eagles fringe forward Emem Eduok still in shock over Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations and says he is still surprised the Eagles failed to make it to the tournament as African champions.

The Super Eagles failed to qualify for the second AFCON tournament in three years, after a 2-2 draw against South Africa in Uyo in November meant the African champions will not be defending their crown.

And Eduok, who was a non-playing member of that team, is still in shock almost two months after.

“I’m still in shock that we failed to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations,” he told Brila FM.

“I’m still shocked that as African champions we failed to qualify for the African cup of Nations. We will not be there next year and I am still shocked.”

But despite still being in shock, Eduok charged Nigerians to move past that disappointment and look forward to the future. He also added that he will always give his best whenever he gets the opportunity to play for Nigeria.

“I think it’s football and we must move on and look forward to the future. I will always make sure that I give my best whenever I play. I will always try to score and make a difference.”
