EFCC recovers N1.5bn, $10,386, £730,500 in Abuja

Citizens in Yobe state have been advised to adhere to all preventive measures as the state continues to record increasing number of cases of the deadly disease.
The chairman of the state task force committee on covid-19 control, Hon Idi Barde Gubana, who is the state deputy governor, gave the advice while briefing newsmen shortly after the committee’s 14th meeting held yesterday at the WAWA hall in the government house.
“The government of Yobe state wishes to remind citizens that covid-19 is still with us and increasing number of cases are recorded and as such, all should ensure to adhere to all prevention measures,” he stated.
As at present, the committee reports that more than 170 testing has been conducted out of which 61 cases were confirmed positive, 48 discharged while a total of 8 deaths were recorded.
The committee has equally advised citizens to adhere to all resolutions passed by the federal government and that in line with that resolution, the state government would be opening up its borders as from yesterday, the 1st of July, 2020 for free inter-state movement.
It however advised that travelers comply strictly with already enjoined prevention and control measures with respect to covid-19.
The state would also comply with the directive of the federal government in the opening of schools for students in final year and preparing for final exams such as students for JSS3, SS3 and primary 6 preparing for common entrance examination, advising however, that proper prevention and control measures against covid-19 be observed.
