Egyptian Partner Rates Taraku Mills 75% Ready for Full Production

A team of engineers from Al Wadi Al Akhdar Oil Mills, Asher, Cairo, Egypt, has inspected Taraku Mills in Benue State as part of efforts to assess the facility’s readiness for full-scale production.

The inspection team, led by Saleh Mansury, conducted an on-site assessment of the factory alongside officials of the Corporate Communications and Information Technology Unit (CCIT) of the Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC).

The assessment covered major sections of the facility, with the engineers examining its equipment, operational processes and production systems.

Following the inspection, the Egyptian team rated the factory 75 per cent ready for full-scale production, expressing satisfaction with its current condition.

Mansury said the remaining 25 per cent involved minor upgrades to some sections of the facility to bring its operations in line with modern technology and improve efficiency.

He identified the boiler and solvent machine as key areas requiring upgrades, noting that the improvements would enhance operational efficiency and reduce energy consumption.

According to him, the Egyptian partner is prepared to commence full-scale production once the identified upgrades are completed.

Mansury also disclosed that plans were underway to introduce additional production lines, particularly for the production of cakes, as part of efforts to expand the factory’s operations.

He urged farmers across Benue State to increase the cultivation of soybeans, groundnuts and maize, which he identified as key raw materials required for the factory’s operations.

Also speaking, the factory engineer, Engr. James Emmanuel, corroborated the assessment, saying the facility was in good condition and capable of operating effectively.

Emmanuel explained that completing the required upgrades, particularly in the boiler and solvent sections, would position the factory to commence production at full capacity.

The inspection is part of ongoing efforts to revitalise Taraku Mills, optimise its production capacity and establish a timeline for the commencement of full-scale operations.
