As the Muslims faithful in Kaduna joined others to celebrate the Eid-El-Kabir Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani has congratulated them on the festival of sacrifice and thanksgiving to Almighty Allah for his wonderful deeds in their lives.
This was contained a statement he personally signed to rejoice with Muslims on the occasion of the celebration.
Gov. Sani said the celebration offers Nigerians a unique opportunity to rebuild communal trust and resume the arduous task of reviving local economies.
He however said for this to happen it requires peace and stability, saying troubled communities must experience peace again.
,”we need to step back and ask ourselves some hard questions. Have we been fair to our neighbours?
“Have we contributed to enhancing or undermining peace in our communities? Are we happy with the level of distrust, disharmony and disillusionment in our communities?
“Can we, in all honesty, say we have been doing the will of Allah? If we sincerely search our consciences, it would be clear to us that we have indeed distanced ourselves from Allah and urgently need to seek His forgiveness. “”
The Governor opined that for Allah to forgive people must first reconcile with their neighbours and contribute to peacemaking in communities.
He stressed that the citizens must realize that they are one people, noting that differences are only artificial and their strength lies in unity.
“We must see dialogue as the path to sustainable peace. We can transform conflicts into opportunities for understanding and sustainable development.
“ We must approach our problems with an open mind and leave a window for forgiveness. Rapprochement by warring communities is key to checkmating criminal elements in our midst.
“Our dear President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR has hit the ground running. He has taken a couple of hard decisions aimed at resetting the Nigerian economy, changing our mindset and putting the country on the path of sustainable progress and development.
“The measures being put in place require our collective sacrifices. The pains would be temporary. Let us give the President our support and cooperation.
“We are committed to delivering on our promises to the good people of Kaduna State. In a short time from now, we shall commence our rural transformation drive.
“It shall be all embracing and extensive. The economies of the rural communities will be revived through massive infrastructural development.
“We shall adopt the bottom – up, inclusive approach. Key stakeholders will be fully involved in this task.
“Our administration has initiated dialogue with key stakeholders on the key challenges facing Kaduna State and the pathway to sustainable peace, progress and development.
“ We had fruitful meetings with Local Government Chairmen, Traditional Rulers and Top Members of the Judiciary. I
“T is an ongoing process. Religious Leaders are the next in line of strategic engagement. They play a critical role in the moral development of citizens and the peace and security of our communities.
“ It is through cooperation and partnership that we can achieve the goals of our administration.
“We commend the security agencies and community leaders for the progress so far made in restoring peace to some of our troubled communities.
“We must, however redouble our efforts to ensure that peace and stability returns to virtually all communities in Kaduna State. It is achievable. We can do it. “
