Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, currently performing the Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, has assured citizens of the state of his administration’s unwavering commitment to security, community resettlement, and economic empowerment.
In his Eid al-Adha message to Muslims in Borno and beyond, Governor Zulum described the festival as a solemn occasion for reflecting on the virtues of sacrifice, selflessness, compassion, and devotion as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Dauda Iliya, the governor reiterated his administration’s resolve to sustain peace across Borno, particularly in resettled communities, while strengthening support for displaced persons, refugees, and returnees.
“We will continue to work very closely with the military, other security agencies, and volunteer forces to ensure peace and tranquility prevail in our communities. My administration’s commitment to security is second to none,” Zulum said.
The governor also pledged to intensify efforts toward community resettlement.
“I want to assure you that more communities will be resettled before the end of our administration, Insha Allah. We will continue to roll out empowerment initiatives for vulnerable and displaced persons to become productive members of society,” he added.
Governor Zulum further reassured citizens of his administration’s determination to complete ongoing developmental projects across the state before the expiration of his tenure.
He commended the leadership and members of the All Progressives Congress for the peaceful and successful conduct of the party’s primary elections across the state.
“The recently conducted primary election demonstrated unity and solidarity among aspirants, leaders, and members without any rancour, underscoring cohesion within the party,” Zulum stated.
The governor called on citizens to continue praying for sustainable peace in Borno State and Nigeria at large, while urging peaceful conduct ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He wished Muslims in Borno and beyond a peaceful and joyous Eid al-Adha celebration and extended greetings of “Hajj Mabroor” to Borno pilgrims in the holy land.
