A retired Judge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Gwagwalada Area Council, justice Balami Mwada, has called on both Muslim and Christian religious leaders to always preach peace and unity among their subjects for the overall development of the country.
Balami made the call in an interview with Peoples Daily Correspondent on his commiseration of Eid-el-Maulud celebration to Muslim community on Monday in Gwagwalada, also charged the Muslims and Christians to tolerate one another at all times.
He specifically urged Muslims to embrace other religions for the sake of peaceful co-existence.
His words: “My message to Muslims is that let them embrace all religions, let them be one, let them share ideas and let them to be their brother keepers. They should understand that no religion is more superior to other. The religion is created by God. And if God had wanted us to be one religion He would have made it possible. So, there is no compulsion in religion”
He, used Eid-el- Maulud celebration to appeal to Nigerian Leaders to administer the country with the fear of God, and urged them to listen to People’s advice for the sake of the nation’s development.
Balami, however, advised Nigerian youths to remain committed to their works, and wait for God’s appointed time.
